In a world around us that’s filled with uncertainty, anxiety and a 24/7 news cycle it’s not surprising that people fall into a pattern of negative and jaded thinking.
It’s a trap that anyone can easily fall into because the trap is set and ready to capture the vulnerable.
This transcends into our daily personal lives where people don’t think twice about tearing others down, manufacturing lies and contributing to negativity through their actions. Many times, they may not even realize they’re doing it.
Here are my thoughts on this – we have two choices when waking up every day:
A. Join the chorus of negativity, hate and unpleasantness.
B. Choose to focus on the good, the positive and lifting others up through our actions.
Yes, it’s that simple.
We make choices. None of us are perfect, but if we can focus more on the good, on being a shining light for others, we just might see things slowly turn around.
I’m not saying this as some generic “don’t worry, be happy” post but it does start with you.
I’m a realist, and every day is a chance to reset. I believe adopting an attitude of daily gratitude and thankfulness for even the basic things in life can help you focus less on the negative.
If you’re not seeking out or making room in your life for uplifting and positive actions, you cannot expect to set yourself up for success and happiness.
Remember you have two choices every day within your control.
